Here's the thing: Cogent's "Zero Day Response" identifies exposure within minutes of public disclosure, even before scanner signatures are available. Its "Autonomous Remediation" then determines the correct fix, assesses business impact, and confirms resolution. What's interesting is that AI-assisted exploit development has significantly sped up attacker timelines. The time to exploit has shrunk from nine months in 2022 to just hours in 2026. However, the average enterprise still takes 60 days to close a critical vulnerability. Cogent Research found that 62% of critical vulnerabilities with a known exploit were circulating before any scanner detected them. The average lag between CVE publication and scanner coverage was up to 5.1 days.
