Cognizant Launches EMEA AI Unit to Scale AI Projects

Cognizant has launched a new AI unit for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This unit aims to help businesses move their artificial intelligence projects from pilot stages to full-scale production. The company is introducing a three-tier "Frontier Deployed Engineering" model. This model sequences strategy, rapid deployment, and complete workflow redesign. The new unit is part of Cognizant's "AI Builder" strategy, focusing on clients who have completed AI pilots but haven't yet scaled them for measurable business impact. The model includes Foundation for strategy, Accelerate for deploying high-value use cases, and Transform for end-to-end workflow redesign using multi-agent delivery squads. Cognizant cites examples of a European fashion retailer and a global pharmaceutical company already benefiting. The EMEA AI Unit is platform-neutral and designed to address regional data sovereignty and regulatory requirements. This initiative extends Cognizant’s Frontier Workforce plan, which aims for 5,000 certified engineers and 10,000 AI-trained business operators by the fourth quarter of 2026. This development matters because it helps businesses overcome common hurdles in fully implementing AI solutions.
