Cursor iOS App: AI Coding Agents On-the-Go

The AI-assisted code editor, Cursor, now has a native iOS app for managing AI coding agents on the go. This new app is available in public beta and lets developers launch, monitor, and direct autonomous coding agents from an iPhone. What's interesting is that users can choose from various AI models and use voice input or slash commands to start tasks. The app also includes a Remote Control feature for agents running on a local Mac or PC, allowing users to continue projects from their phone if the host computer stays awake. Cloud agents operate in isolated virtual machines, enabling them to test and verify code independently. Users can transition workloads between local and cloud environments. The app uses iOS Live Activities and push notifications to keep users informed, sending alerts when an agent needs input or completes a task. From the app, users can review generated artifacts and merge pull requests. The launch follows Anysphere, Cursor's parent company, being acquired by SpaceX in a $60 billion deal. Cursor for iOS is available on the App Store for users with paid plans, and there's a temporary 75 percent discount on Composer 2.5 mobile runs through July 5. This matters because it offers software engineers more flexibility and mobility in their work.
