Cursor to Open India Office as User Base Hits 3M

AI coding startup Cursor will open its first physical office in India by the end of 2026. This move follows rapid growth, with Cursor's Indian user base now exceeding 3 million developers. Simon Green, Cursor’s head of Asia-Pacific and Japan, says the company will invest significantly in India over the next five months. What's interesting is Cursor recently launched a new subscription plan, "Cursor Start," specifically for India. It costs 649 rupees per month and sits between their free and Pro plans. This is the first country where Cursor has introduced a dedicated subscription tier, and it allows UPI payments. The company is also targeting businesses, having partnered with Infosys to help accelerate enterprise adoption of AI software. This expansion shows how crucial the Indian developer market is for global AI companies.
