Dokkaebi World MMORPG: Kakao Games Unveils Eastern Fantasy

Kakao Games has revealed details for its new MMORPG, 'Dokkaebi World'. This Eastern-style game, developed by Supercat, is scheduled for an official launch in October. Pre-registration for the game is already open. Kakao Games CEO Lee Si-woo states the game captures an original worldview and the core fun of MMORPGs with a modern sensibility. The game features 2.5D characters and an Eastern-style based on traditional folklore. Players will experience a unique visual style, combining 2D pixel characters with 3D backgrounds and real-time lighting. What's interesting is the game removes class boundaries. Players can combine 12 skill types to create their own fighting style. Equipping three or more skills of the same type unlocks an ultimate skill. The game's universe is adapted from the web novel 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon'. It features monsters from traditional Korean folklore, like Bulgasari. This means players can look forward to a fresh take on the MMORPG genre with a distinct cultural flavor.
