Dubai AI Agent Initiative: New Growth for Chinese AI Firms

Dubai is launching a new two-year initiative to promote the use of Agent AI in its private sector. This move aims to improve productivity and unlock new growth paths. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the initiative. It focuses on making artificial intelligence practical and generating commercial benefits. The UAE plans to double the digital economy's contribution to its GDP from 9.7% in 2022 to 19.4% in the next decade. The Dubai Economic Agenda also seeks to create $27 billion in economic value annually through digital transformation. The initiative, led by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, includes specialized training, an Agent AI business incubator, and a special fund. Since 2023, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has helped over 3,400 digital startups establish themselves in Dubai, with AI companies making up 13% of those supported. This matters because it creates significant global growth opportunities for AI firms.
