Fervo, NVIDIA, PNNL: EGS-Twin for Geothermal Energy

Fervo Energy, NVIDIA, and PNNL are partnering to develop EGS-Twin, a new digital twin platform for enhanced geothermal systems. This platform will offer real-time insights into subsurface behavior and operational performance. The collaboration will combine high-resolution field data with advanced modeling and AI-driven forecasting. PNNL will use Fervo's field data to train AI models on NVIDIA's infrastructure, integrating them into NVIDIA Omniverse libraries. The goal is to enhance geothermal operations, streamlining responses to subsurface changes and improving heat recovery and system reliability. The EGS-Twin is scheduled for implementation by 2029. This initiative represents a significant step in integrating AI into clean energy to help meet global energy demands.
