Figma AI: OpenAI & Anthropic Power New Design Agent

Figma is integrating new AI tools into its design software through partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI. This means users will soon be able to use natural language to create and modify designs or automate tasks directly within Figma's collaborative canvas. What's interesting is that users can even activate multiple AI agents to work on different tasks at the same time. The AI assistant is specifically designed to understand design elements and context. Loredana Crisan, Figma’s chief design officer, highlights that this will help teams visualize concepts and refine ideas, cutting down on repetitive work. The AI agent will first launch in Figma Design, with plans to expand across other products. Figma is also working to merge design and programming more closely within its applications. Despite concerns about AI's impact on jobs, Figma reported a significant revenue increase, reaching $333.4 million in the first quarter of 2026. This development could change how designers work and collaborate.
