Future Caribbean: Global Agentic AI Buildathon Launched

Future Caribbean is launching a global agentic AI buildathon. This initiative aims to strengthen the Caribbean region's economy and its connections to global markets. The buildathon will bring together builders, partners, investors, advisors, and institutions to develop Agentic AI systems for real economies. Future Caribbean, founded by Lily Dash, believes the Caribbean has significant talent and global relevance. The organization says this initiative comes amid rapid growth in the Agentic AI ecosystem. While much of the AI discussion focuses on productivity tools and chatbots, Future Caribbean is exploring if Agentic AI can help fragmented regions operate more smoothly. The Caribbean is highlighted as a clear example with multiple islands, currencies, legal systems, and languages, which are barriers to coordination. The 21-day buildathon will include 40 teams globally. They will have access to powerful computing infrastructure, open-source AI frameworks, global mentors, and deployment opportunities. Participants will focus on solutions for economic development, modernizing government services, improving commerce, and increasing productivity. Select teams will receive cash awards, a pitch opportunity at the New York Stock Exchange in late 2026, GPU credits, deployment machines, and scholarships. This effort could provide solutions for distributed markets worldwide.
