Gearset's Cam AI: Accelerating Salesforce Development

Gearset has launched Cam, an AI agent designed to help Salesforce teams accelerate development. Cam aims to take tickets from start to finish, fully governed by security and delivery guardrails. What's interesting is that pilot programs showed Cam creating up to 44% of a team's pull requests within a week. One customer even saw 75% of these successfully merged. Gearset's CEO, Kevin Boyle, notes that while AI can write changes quickly, ensuring accuracy and integrating them into live systems without issues is the difficult part. This often shifts the bottleneck to code review. Cam is different from coding copilots because it can be assigned a ticket and complete the work through to a pull request. It interprets requests, clarifies details, and plans changes based on the team's repository and org setup. The agent ensures Salesforce changes are valid and deployable, adhering to an org's standards and security controls. The bottom line is that Cam helps teams increase output without creating bottlenecks, freeing them for more strategic work.
