Gemini Hits 1 Billion Users: Google's AI Growth Soars

Google's Gemini app has now reached over one billion monthly active users. This marks a significant milestone for Google's artificial intelligence efforts. What's interesting is that this puts Gemini on par with ChatGPT in terms of user numbers. Google CEO Sundar Pichai noted that Gemini is one of the company's fastest-growing products, becoming the 14th Google product to hit this billion-user mark. This specific figure refers only to the Gemini app, not other Google products using AI features. For example, Google's AI Mode in Search has also separately passed one billion monthly active users. Users are engaging with Gemini in various ways; 63% utilize its voice feature, and the platform generates over 150 million images daily. The iOS version alone has over 100 million active users. Google continues to develop Gemini, recently introducing Gemini 3.5 Flash for coding and AI-agent tasks. This reflects the intensifying competition in consumer AI.
