Gemini Spark Expands to Asia-Pacific: Autonomous AI Agent

Google is expanding its personal AI agent, Gemini Spark, to subscribers across the Asia-Pacific region. This agent is designed to independently carry out multi-step tasks. Gemini Spark is now available in English and several regional languages for Google AI Ultra subscribers in Asia Pacific. Access will extend to the Google AI Pro tier in the coming weeks. What's interesting is that Spark can work proactively and autonomously, unlike a standard chatbot that only responds when prompted. It appears in a separate tab within the Gemini app and can perform tasks across Google Workspace, the Chrome browser, and supported third-party applications. For example, Spark can create and continuously update a Google spreadsheet using information from Gmail. It can also monitor websites through Chrome and alert users when lower-priced concert tickets or products become available. The agent continues running assigned tasks even when a user’s device is asleep or turned off. Google also added automatic browsing in Chrome, allowing Spark to interact with websites, fill out forms, and manage subscriptions. Future plans include reading photos and PDFs in Gmail and connecting to messaging applications. The bottom line is that this expansion brings powerful, autonomous AI assistance to more users, potentially simplifying daily digital chores.
