Google AI App Update: Chat Search & File Upload

Google has significantly updated its mobile AI apps on both Android and iOS. For the first time, users can now search their past chat history directly on their smartphones, a feature previously only available on desktop. A new "Search Conversations" feature appears at the top of the side navigation bar. Users can quickly find old chats by keywords. This improves information retrieval efficiency, solving the problem of endlessly scrolling through old records. The iOS version also sees a redesigned interface and new features, aligning with changes previewed at Google's May I/O Developer Conference. The input box is now a floating rounded rectangle. Plus, users can directly upload files from their phone through the "+" menu, enhancing mobile office workflows. While some visual changes and file uploads are rolling out to iOS, they are not yet widely available on Android. This move aims to evolve AI assistants into long-term productivity platforms.
