Google AI Mode: Gemini 3.8 Flash Now Available Globally

Google has added Gemini 3.8 Flash to AI Mode's model menu. This happened on the same day the model was released. Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search, announced this rollout. He stated that 3.8 Flash is available globally for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. This new model is now accessible in AI Mode, the Gemini app, and Google Sheets. You can select 3.8 Flash from the plus icon in AI Mode's "Ask anything" bar. It appears under "Gemini 3 models," between "Auto" and "Pro." This is where 3.7 Flash previously appeared on August 14th. Google says 3.8 Flash is its third Flash release in just six weeks, coming three weeks after 3.7 Flash. The models in AI Mode have changed rapidly. The bottom line is that the options in a paid AI Mode test can change frequently. This means tests conducted at different times may use different models.
