Google's Antigravity: Managed AI Agents Now Standard

Google recently announced that Antigravity is now a platform for developing and managing autonomous AI agents. This new offering allows a single API call to spin up a remote Linux sandbox where the agent can reason, use tools, run code, and browse the web. What's interesting is that this managed agent runtime feature has been launched by three major vendors within a short six-week period. Anthropic introduced Claude Managed Agents in public beta on April 8th. Then, on April 22nd, AWS followed with a preview of a managed harness within Bedrock AgentCore. And now, Google has done the same with Managed Agents in the Gemini API. This rapid convergence suggests that managed agent runtime has become a fundamental, expected feature rather than a differentiator. It simplifies the creation of production agents by collapsing complex setups into configuration and API calls. The bottom line is that this trend makes AI agent development more accessible and standardized for everyone.
