HarmonyOS 7 Unveiled: Liquid Glass UI, Agentic AI, 15% Faster

Huawei has officially unveiled HarmonyOS 7 at its developer conference, introducing a new "Liquid Glass" user interface. This design features glass-like elements, 3D scene effects on the lock screen, and translucent controls. What's interesting is this aesthetic is also appearing in Apple's iOS 26 and Samsung's One UI 9. HarmonyOS 7 will be available across smartphones, tablets, computers, wearables, and IoT devices. It also includes an "agentic AI" assistant with in-app command support, claiming over 90% task execution. Huawei reports a 15% performance improvement over HarmonyOS 6.1. A developer beta is available today, with the stable update expected this fall. This release signals a significant design and AI shift in the mobile operating system landscape.
