Horizon AI Fellowship: Boost US Govt AI Security Capacity

The Horizon Institute for Public Service has launched a new AI Rapid Response Fellowship. This initiative aims to place experienced technical and policy professionals into U.S. federal government offices. The goal is to strengthen the government's capacity to address artificial intelligence security challenges. Here's the thing: governments worldwide are trying to understand and respond to the rapid advancement of AI technologies. Horizon states this program addresses a growing shortage of personnel with expertise in AI, cybersecurity, and national security within federal agencies. Applications are open until July 22, 2026. Selected fellows will begin placements once administrative requirements are complete. The program offers two tracks: a Fellow Track for professionals with two to six or more years of experience, offering a salary range of $170,000 to $200,000+, and a Senior Fellow Track for those with 10 to 15 or more years of experience, with compensation starting at $250,000+. Both tracks include an additional benefits stipend and a one-year placement.
