IBM is showcasing how Agentic AI can help journalists with research and content production. This was demonstrated at a free Agentic AI Coaching Clinic during IBM Indonesia Builders Day 2026. Journalists from leading Indonesian media learned to use IBM Bob. The IBM Indonesia team showed how Agentic AI speeds up research, simplifies content creation, and boosts editorial productivity, while still following media writing rules. IBM Bob can draft news and upload it in real-time, without needing to log into a Content Management System. Here's the thing: IBM emphasizes that journalists remain crucial. AI is seen as a tool to increase efficiency, but fact-checking, determining viewpoints, and editorial decisions stay with humans. The Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, states that AI lacks verification instincts and only works when instructed. He says AI cannot determine authenticity without human control. The bottom line: This technology aims to be a production aid, not an editorial decision-maker, ensuring that professional journalism's verification discipline remains paramount.
