Indian Agentic AI: $60M Raised in 2026, Adoption Soars

Indian agentic artificial intelligence startups have raised $60 million in the first four-and-a-half months of 2026. This is due to increasing adoption and easier deployment of AI agents. This momentum follows a significant rise last year, when investments in these startups nearly doubled to $144 million from $75 million in 2024. In 2023, they raised $121 million. More than 100 agentic AI startups have been founded in India since 2023. Companies like Confido Health and Runable each secured over $10 million in funding. Others, including Gushwork, TraqCheck, and NudgeBee, have also raised funds this year. QwikBuild, another agentic AI startup, is currently seeking funds. The co-founder of QwikBuild notes that recent advancements, like the Claude Opus models, have made agents more reliable. This makes scaling with agents possible and increases adoption. Enterprises are now more open to using agentic AI because its utility for workflows is clearer. What's interesting is that this is leading to improved revenue quality for startups. For example, Emergent, an AI coding agent, quickly surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The bottom line is that while there are challenges like funding for growth-stage companies, the increasing reliability and clear utility of agentic AI are driving significant investment and adoption in India. This could impact how businesses globally integrate AI into their operations.
