Infobip: APAC Businesses Scale AI Defenses vs. Fraud

New research shows businesses in the Asia Pacific region are rapidly increasing their use of AI to fight fraud. Fraudsters are using artificial intelligence to automate and personalize their attacks, but companies are fighting back. What's interesting is that while detected threats increased by 77%, the adoption of AI-powered fraud detection grew by 71% year-on-year. Pattern-based detection also saw a 105% increase, showing a move towards more adaptive security. Matija Ražem, from Infobip, says that AI protection is evolving just as fast as AI-driven fraud. This growth in AI detection proves organizations are making security a core part of their communication. In some parts of APAC, fraud related to one-time passwords remains a big problem. Regulatory bodies in countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and India are also introducing stronger authentication rules. The bottom line is that businesses are taking stronger action. For example, PLDT Enterprise used Infobip's firewall and blocked over 1.3 billion spam and fraud attempts. This focus on prevention is becoming a competitive advantage for businesses.
