Iran Using ChatGPT, Gemini for Malware Attacks on US, Israel

Iran is reportedly using Western AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to develop malware and enhance cyber warfare against the US and Israel. Iranian hackers are crafting phishing messages in Hebrew and Arabic and creating fake online personas to target individuals. Google detected the Iranian group APT42 using its Gemini AI model in February to research methods related to American F-35 fighter jets. Beyond cyberattacks, Iran is reportedly using AI for electromagnetic warfare, improving drone guidance, and accelerating decision-making in battlefield command centers. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims some of its cruise missiles use AI-assisted guidance. AI is also reportedly being used for rapid translation of Western military research and in online influence campaigns, with state-linked accounts sharing AI-generated videos.
