Jamie Dimon: AI Amplifies Cyber Threats, Citing Anthropic Tech

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warns that artificial intelligence is amplifying cybersecurity threats. He states that cyber risk is the bank's biggest concern, and AI has made it worse. JPMorgan has been testing the Mythos AI model, developed by Anthropic. This model reportedly found thousands of unpatched software vulnerabilities. Anthropic's CEO suggests there is a 6 to 12-month window to address these issues before widespread exploitation. Dimon praised the controlled release of Mythos, giving organizations time to assess and mitigate risks. JPMorgan spends nearly $600 million annually on cybersecurity. The vulnerabilities discovered by Mythos are not limited to traditional finance systems. They exist in shared internet infrastructure, which also affects crypto markets, DeFi protocols, and centralized exchanges. This means the heightened risk applies to digital assets across the board.
