JPMorgan Adopts NJIT Intern's AI Email Compliance Tool

A student intern at JPMorgan developed an AI assistant for email compliance. Frank Giaquinto, a financial technology major, created "Compliance Guard" during an artificial intelligence challenge this summer. This AI tool helps employees check email drafts against company and regulatory policies. It works within JPMorgan’s existing AI system. Users paste an email, and the assistant provides feedback, indicating if it's safe to send. It screens for data confidentiality, off-channel communication requests, and regulatory conduct. The system uses a color-coded feedback: green for good to go, yellow for risky with suggested changes, and red for do-not-send. This innovation aims to add an early safety check before emails are sent, helping prevent accidental leaks and ensure compliance. This technology could streamline how large organizations manage internal communications and regulatory adherence.
