KakaoTalk Gets ChatGPT: AI Chatbot for In-App Calls

Kakao is introducing a ChatGPT chatbot feature directly within KakaoTalk chat rooms. Users can now chat with artificial intelligence without switching applications. Here's how it works: You can add the chatbot to one-on-one or group chats. Then, mention the chatbot with the '@' symbol and your prompt, or use a button on the keyboard toolbar. For example, typing "@ChatGPT tell me today’s weather" gets an immediate AI response. The chatbot supports text answers and image generation. Kakao has also added representative commands for convenience, like news or fortunes. When the AI answers, it mentions the questioner directly. This new feature builds on Kakao's existing AI ecosystem, which saw its "ChatGPT for Kakao" service surpass 11 million cumulative subscribers by May. This integration aims to make using AI easier and more useful for daily conversations.
