Kiteworks Survey: 80% Orgs Hit by Security/AI Incidents

A new Kiteworks survey reveals that 80% of organizations faced at least one security or AI-related incident in the past year. This finding comes from research with security, compliance, risk, and IT professionals across ten industries and three global regions. What's interesting is that these incidents led to real consequences for 63% of organizations, including audit findings or regulatory investigations. Plus, 65% found employees using unapproved AI tools with sensitive data. The report also shows a significant controls gap, with a combined Data Security and Compliance Readiness Index of just 16.2 out of 100. This means controls are not keeping pace with the rapid deployment of AI.
