Korean Startups Outperform Conglomerates in AI Models

Start-ups in the "Independent AI Foundation Model" project are outperforming Korean conglomerates in global performance indicators. Motif Technologies' "Motif 3" model leads domestic models with 47 points on the Artificial Analytics Intelligence Index. What's interesting is that Motif 3, a 314 billion parameter model, achieved this top score. Upstage's "Solar Open 2250B" came in second with 37 points. SK Telecom and LG AI Research Institute followed, even though their models have larger parameter sizes. The bottom line is that more parameters don't always mean better AI performance. This evaluation highlights the potential of newer participants in the AI development space.
