LG AI Research: K-EXAONE 2.0, Korea's Largest AI Model

South Korea's LG AI Research has released K-EXAONE 2.0, a 750-billion-parameter large language model. This makes it the largest AI foundation model ever developed in South Korea. What's interesting is that the model is available on Hugging Face under a permissive license, allowing both research and commercial use. This new model is more than three times larger than its predecessor. It also shows a performance improvement of over 10 percent across 24 benchmark evaluations. Performance in coding benchmarks improved by about 30 percent. K-EXAONE 2.0 has expanded multilingual capabilities from six languages to ten. This release highlights South Korea's growing focus on AI as a strategic national infrastructure.
