LinkedIn AI Slop: New Feature Flags Inauthentic Posts

LinkedIn is introducing a new feature this week to address AI-generated content. Users can now flag posts that "seem like AI slop." When a post is tagged this way, it will disappear from your feed. What's interesting is that LinkedIn is also testing a way to privately notify the original poster that their words "may have come off as inauthentic." The company's chief product officer, Hari Srinivasan, explained that LinkedIn doesn't want to be the sole judge of AI content. He says AI and slop are not the same thing. AI-generated content has become widespread on LinkedIn. One company estimated that 41% of long LinkedIn posts and 30% of shorter posts were AI-generated. This new feature aims to help users get feedback from other humans. The bottom line is that LinkedIn wants members to connect with real people and their authentic perspectives.
