LinkedIn Fights AI "Slop" with New Reporting Button

LinkedIn has introduced a new "Seems like AI slop" button. This allows users to privately flag posts they believe are low-quality or heavily generated by artificial intelligence. This move follows a study indicating that 41 percent of long-form LinkedIn posts are AI-generated. The company is also removing an AI-powered post enhancement tool and strengthening systems to detect automated content. Users can report generic or overly AI-dependent posts through a three-dot menu. Once reported, the post is hidden from their feed. LinkedIn states this reporting mechanism supplements automated detection. The platform is also replacing its "Enhance your post" feature with a simpler proofreading tool. This aims to preserve the author's original voice. LinkedIn is also blocking hundreds of thousands of automated comment attempts daily and has stopped billions of other automated actions. This matters because it aims to foster more authentic professional conversations online.
