LLM Memory Boost: New Tools Enhance AI Capabilities

AI agents and large language models, or LLMs, are getting smarter. New third-party tools are greatly expanding how these systems can use facts, documents, and conversations to deliver results. Here's the thing: LLMs typically have short memories. Retrieval-augmented generation, known as RAG, helps give them larger memories. Now, complementary software tools are emerging to provide even more expanded memory capabilities. This often means giving an agent or model persistent memory across different sessions. One such tool is Graphiti, described as an "open-source temporal knowledge graph framework." It re-evaluates stored information over time and uses graph storage as a core part of its design. Graphiti supports various LLM providers and can connect to third-party storage services like GitHub and Gmail. Another tool, Hindsight, is available as both a cloud service and a local project. It stores details about agent sessions using four types of memory and different storage and retrieval strategies. The bottom line: these advancements are making AI agents and LLMs more powerful by giving them better and longer-lasting memory.
