Meta Platforms has launched Muse Spark 1.3, an AI model offering a significant price reduction for users willing to share their data. This new model provides a 21-fold price cut for its data-sharing variant. Here's the thing: Muse Spark 1.3 is a million-token context AI model designed for coding performance. It features a two-tier pricing strategy. The standard version costs $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. However, the "contributor" version is priced at $0.10 and $0.20 respectively. This lower price is in exchange for Meta's permission to use customer data for product improvement. What's interesting is this price difference, ranging from 12 to 21 times, exceeds similar data-sharing discounts from other companies. CEO Mark Zuckerberg states this release is the company's largest single improvement in coding and agentic capabilities to date.
