Meta's Muse Spark 1.3: AI Model Rivals OpenAI & Anthropic

Meta says its new AI model, Muse Spark 1.3, has caught up with top competitors like Anthropic and OpenAI. This is Meta's most powerful large language model to date. Developers can now access Muse Spark 1.3 through an API, and it will soon roll out to Facebook, Instagram, and the Meta AI application. Meta's Chief AI Officer, Alexandr Wang, claims Muse Spark 1.3 is competitive with Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1 and better than OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol, especially in coding. An independent analysis by Artificial Analysis gave Muse Spark 1.3 a score of 62 on its Intelligence Index. This places it behind only Fable 5.1 and Opus 5, and ahead of OpenAI's models. This suggests Meta's significant AI investments might finally be paying off.
