Micron Invests in Anthropic, Secures Memory Supply Deal

Micron has made a strategic investment in Anthropic, the developer of AI models like Claude and Mythos. This includes a supply deal for memory and SSDs. Anthropic will receive allocations of Micron's HBM, ordinary DRAM, and SSDs. This collaboration also involves AI infrastructure architecture design analysis and the use of Anthropic's Claude models by Micron. Tom Brown, Anthropic's co-founder, states that memory and storage are central to efficiently training and serving Claude. This partnership helps them optimize systems and secure needed supply as demand grows. Micron also participated in Anthropic's H-round funding, alongside Samsung and SK Hynix. Sumit Sadana of Micron notes that the AI revolution has elevated the role of memory and storage. Micron has also deployed Anthropic’s Claude models internally to accelerate coding and enable agentic use cases. This strategic agreement positions Micron to support Anthropic’s long-term growth.
