Microsoft AI Security: New MAI-Cyber-1-Flash Model

Microsoft has launched a new security agent stack and a cyber-capable model. This new model, called MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, is said to outperform Mythos while costing half as much. The new offering allows Microsoft customers to use one platform for continuous artificial intelligence-powered security. This means they won't need to build their own agents or contract with other AI providers. The agent platform, named Project Perception, uses a team of specialized agents and models. It aims for a continuous understanding of an organization's security environment. This platform integrates its multi-model security agent harness, MDASH, with the new MAI-Cyber-1-Flash model. Hayete Gallot, Executive Vice President of Microsoft Security, states that attackers currently have an advantage. She emphasizes that companies need to defend themselves at the same speed and scale. Project Perception offers a new kind of cybersecurity stack, leading to a more automated security process. Project Perception involves three types of agents: red agents identify attack paths, blue agents defend and investigate risks, and green agents fix environments and strengthen security. Users can simply ask a question, and the agents will work together to complete the task. This development could mean more accessible and efficient cybersecurity for businesses.
