The hacker group TeamPCP is threatening to sell source code from the Mistral AI project. They are asking $25,000 for nearly 450 repositories. Mistral AI confirmed that hackers compromised a codebase management system. This happened after a software supply-chain attack called Mini Shai-Hulud. The incident started with stolen credentials and spread to many software projects. TeamPCP claims to have stolen almost 5 gigabytes of internal repositories and source code. This data is supposedly used by Mistral for training and future projects. The hackers say they will leak everything for free if they don't find a buyer within a week. Mistral AI states that the impacted data was not part of their core code repositories. They say no hosted services, user data, or research environments were compromised. This incident highlights the ongoing risks of supply chain attacks in the tech industry.
