MoonPay has launched a new feature allowing users to buy cryptocurrencies directly within the ChatGPT app. Users can now purchase digital assets like bitcoin, ether, solana, and USDC. Here's how it works: you can search for MoonPay in the ChatGPT app menu, link an account, and proceed with buying. The process is designed to be conversational; users select an asset, chain, and amount in the chat window, and the relevant fields auto-fill. The final payment confirmation happens on MoonPay’s website checkout screen. Payment options include credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfers. MoonPay supports over 100 cryptocurrencies and more than 30 blockchains. This integration is seen as a move towards artificial intelligence interfaces handling actual transaction steps, not just providing information. It could make buying cryptocurrencies more accessible by connecting purchase intent directly to payment within a conversational AI.
