Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI just secured a massive $2 billion investment, pushing its valuation to an astonishing $20 billion. This funding round was led by Long-Z Investment, the venture capital arm of Meituan. Other big names like Tsinghua Capital and China Mobile also participated. Here's the thing: Moonshot AI has now raised a total of $3.9 billion in just the last six months. Their valuation has skyrocketed, more than doubling from $4.3 billion at the end of last year. Founded in 2023 by former Meta AI and Google Brain researcher Yang Zhilin, Moonshot AI is making serious waves. Their Kimi K2.6 model is currently the second most used large language model on OpenRouter.
