Moonshot AI: Kimi K2.5 Retires, K3 Takes Over Aug 31

Moonshot AI's Kimi K2.5 model is retiring at the end of August. Its service life spans only about eight months. The company's new flagship model, Kimi K3, will take over. K3 boasts 2.8 trillion parameters and a context window expanded to 1 million tokens. It uses a new KDA hybrid linear attention mechanism. K3 is the first open-source model to reach the 2.8 trillion parameter scale. Moonshot AI has held the record for the largest open-source model scale for 9 of the past 12 months. Tencent Cloud also recommends users migrate from K2.5 to newer versions, like K2.6, before the August 31 deadline. This rapid iteration reflects the competitive nature of the large model industry.
