Musk Loses OpenAI Lawsuit Against Sam Altman

Elon Musk has lost his lawsuit against OpenAI and its co-founder Sam Altman. He alleged that Altman broke a contract by changing OpenAI from a nonprofit to a for-profit company. Musk sought $150 billion in damages and for Altman to be removed from the OpenAI board. Musk and Altman were co-chairs of OpenAI when it began as a nonprofit in 2015. Musk pulled funding for the project by the end of 2017. He claimed he provided initial funding and recruited key people. Musk wanted more control and suggested incorporating OpenAI into Tesla. Altman declined and received funding from Microsoft instead. This outcome marks the end of a long-standing dispute between the two.
