Naver is creating a new organization focused on defense and security artificial intelligence projects. This initiative, called "Defence Frontier," will be led by NAVER Cloud CEO Kim Yoo-won. The goal is to build a platform that integrates and analyzes military and operational data using super massive AI models. They plan to develop specialized AI models for the battlefield, assisting commanders with optimal decision-making. This includes processing battlefield maps, reconnaissance videos, and communication information. The defense AI market is growing quickly, projected to reach nearly 13 billion dollars by 2030. Naver Cloud aims to adapt its existing AI, cloud, and data center capabilities to suit Korea's security environment. This move could impact how AI is used in national defense.
