Nubia NaviX Ultra: On-Device AI Agent Smartphone

Nubia has launched the NaviX Ultra, an AI-agent smartphone. The company unveiled this device at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. What's interesting is that the NaviX Ultra runs on the Doubao mobile assistant. Nubia says this phone can understand natural language and complete multi-step tasks across different apps. This includes comparing prices, placing orders, or planning trips. The device features a dedicated orange AI button to instantly launch the smart assistant. Importantly, Nubia states that all major AI processing happens directly on the device, not in the cloud. This design choice, along with official generative AI registration credentials, aims to reduce the risk of user data leaks. The NaviX Ultra will be available in four colors: Blue, Dream, Obsidian Black, and Snowfield. The camera system features a horizontal strip design on the back, housing a triple-camera setup, including a periscope telephoto lens. Nubia has not yet announced pricing or a release date for the NaviX Ultra. This news matters because it highlights continued innovation in smartphone AI, with a focus on on-device processing and user data security.
