Nvidia's Record Quarter: Agentic AI Drives $82B Revenue

Nvidia has posted a record quarter as "agentic AI" arrives. This new form of AI takes instructions, breaks them into steps, and finishes tasks. For example, an AI agent could investigate an anomaly, pull records, draft a memo, and route it for review. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that AI can now do productive and valuable work, making tokens profitable. The infrastructure powering these agents is no longer discretionary; it provides a return on every completed task. Agentic AI operates in two layers: one for reasoning and another for execution. Huang explained that thinking happens on GPUs, while orchestration runs on CPUs. The execution layer is new, and Nvidia's Vera processor is designed specifically for it. This chip focuses on completing tasks quickly and cost-effectively. Nvidia expects nearly $20 billion in Vera chip revenue this year from this new market. The company is also significantly increasing capacity for partners like Anthropic across major cloud providers. This shift indicates a fundamental change in how businesses will utilize AI for real-world operations.
