OpenAI has acquired the NextSlide team to enhance ChatGPT features. This move brings presentation-building AI talent in-house as OpenAI expands ChatGPT's role in workplace productivity. NextSlide built tools for converting notes and research into polished presentations. The entire NextSlide team has now joined OpenAI and is working on ChatGPT features. The deal was finalized in early 2026, though financial terms were not disclosed. NextSlide was founded by Ahmed Beshry in mid-2025. Beshry credited Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of AGI deployment, with facilitating the acquisition. Beshry and his team are now directly contributing to ChatGPT feature development. This indicates ChatGPT is evolving from a text-generation tool into a full-spectrum content creation platform, which could change how many people work every day.
