OpenAI: Apple's AI "Badness" Fuels "Meritless" Lawsuit

OpenAI is calling Apple's lawsuit against it "meritless" and wants a federal judge to dismiss the case. OpenAI suggests Apple's accusations are partly motivated by jealousy of OpenAI's success. OpenAI also claims Apple failed to identify a specific trade secret shared with Tan. What's interesting is that Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI in June 2024 to integrate ChatGPT into Siri. However, the relationship has since soured, partly because OpenAI is building its own hardware business, which included acquiring IO, a company co-founded by Tan.
