OpenAI Codex: Edge Browser Support for ChatGPT AI Control

OpenAI is expanding its AI capabilities to more web browsers. ChatGPT and Codex, which allow AI to control a browser, now work with Microsoft Edge. Previously, this "Computer Use" feature was only available in Chrome. Now, with version 26.730.61639 of the ChatGPT and Codex app, users can enable Edge by going into the app's settings, finding the "Computer Use" section, and selecting "More browsers" to install the Edge extension. This move follows the deprecation of Atlas, OpenAI's standalone browser. The company is integrating Atlas's features directly into the ChatGPT app and existing browser extensions. The Chrome extension recently gained the ability to read YouTube videos and open tabs. This expansion means OpenAI is bringing its AI tools to browsers people already use, making them more accessible.
