This allows developers to manage coding workflows from their smartphones while Codex works on their computers. The system is powered by OpenAI’s reasoning-focused AI models. Now, users can monitor and control active coding sessions remotely through the mobile app. This means developers can start new tasks, review outputs, approve commands, and guide Codex in real time without being at their laptops. The mobile app connects to a machine already running Codex. Users update both the desktop and mobile apps, then scan a QR code to sync them. OpenAI emphasizes security; files and sensitive data stay on the original machine. The phone only receives screenshots, logs, and approval requests. Currently, the connected desktop system primarily works with macOS devices, with Windows support coming soon.
