OpenAI: Free ChatGPT Gets Unlimited Chats & GPT-5.6 Luna

OpenAI is removing chat limits for free and Go plan users of ChatGPT. These users will soon be able to chat without text restrictions. Here's the thing: GPT-5.6 Luna is becoming the default model for both free and Go tiers. Luna, the smallest of three GPT-5.6 models, replaces GPT-5.5 Instant this week. Unlimited text chats and a new Think button will follow next week. This button lets users control the model's reasoning before it replies. What's interesting is that file uploads and image generation will still have limits for free and Go users. Paid subscribers on Plus and Pro plans are getting an upgraded GPT-5.6 Sol, which is OpenAI’s top model. This new version focuses on shorter, more direct answers and aims to reduce factual errors by about 68 percent compared to the older GPT-5.5 Instant. Paid users will also get the Think feature, but with more flexibility, offering a slider for reasoning levels. This helps users get smarter and more accurate responses from the AI.
