OpenAI has launched GPT-5.6, a new family of models designed to enhance AI reasoning and speed. This release includes Luna, Terra, and Sol, with prices ranging from one to five dollars per million input tokens. All three models support a one million token context window and have a knowledge cutoff of February 2026. The pricing structure is intended to be competitive. In the same month, OpenAI upgraded ChatGPT voice mode to GPT-Live, allowing for simultaneous listening and speaking. They also introduced ChatGPT Work, a desktop agent for delegating tasks. These updates signal a move towards agentic systems that can plan and execute autonomously.
