This change follows Fidji Simo stepping down from her role as product and business chief due to chronic illness. He took over these responsibilities during Simo's medical leave and will continue to lead them. Sarah Friar, OpenAI's finance chief, and Jason Kwon, the company's strategy chief, will report directly to CEO Sam Altman. The company does not plan to replace Simo. What's interesting is Brockman reports directly to CEO Sam Altman and is under pressure to bring in revenue. This is especially important as OpenAI prepares for a prospective IPO, having confidentially filed its prospectus with regulators in June.
