OpenAI Movie "Artificial" Finds New Home at Neon

Luca Guadagnino’s movie "Artificial," which focuses on OpenAI, has found a new distributor in Neon. This comes after Amazon MGM Studios dropped the film. The movie stars Andrew Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. It depicts the company's turbulent 2023, when Altman was fired and then rehired. Ike Barinholtz plays Elon Musk, Monica Barbaro portrays Mira Murati, and Yura Borisov is Ilya Sutskever. Amazon reportedly pulled out of the film's production in June, after $40 million had already been spent. This decision followed Amazon's $50 billion investment in OpenAI earlier in February. Neon picked up the film after other studios reportedly passed. This news matters because it means the film about OpenAI's recent history is still moving forward.
